How it works
From blank page to lodged, in six steps
You prepare the first three. A specialist joins you at step four.
- 1
Name the purpose (10 minutes)
Write one sentence: the amount, what it is for and what it changes in the business. If it will not fit in a sentence, that is the first thing to work on.
- 2
Read your file as an assessor (about an hour)
Skim your statements for the seven usual marks, compare BAS with deposits, list every repayment. The readiness check turns this into twelve quick questions.
- 3
Gather the pack (an afternoon)
Pick your structure and security type in the pack builder, then collect numbered PDFs with a one-page summary on top. Caption anything unusual.
- 4
Lodge the enquiry (about 60 seconds)
A short form with the amount, purpose, state, structure and whether property is involved. No attachments, no credit check at this stage.
- 5
The call and the questions
A lending specialist phones you, talks through your situation and says which documents to send. Answer the same day and confirm in writing.
- 6
Offer, conditions and settlement
If it fits, you receive an offer, often with conditions to clear. For property security, the legal steps follow. Funds are released as you instruct.
Where do the pages on this site fit?
Steps one to three are covered by the seven questions lenders answer, the document packs and the application checklist. Step four is on the apply page. Steps five and six are explained in the after-you-lodge section, starting with the first 24 hours.
What do I do if something stalls?
Ask what is outstanding and whose move it is, then do your part the same day. The ten usual causes are on what stalls a file, and the repairs for the common application problems are in the fix-first section.
Common questions
Do I have to prepare everything first?
No. The enquiry needs no documents and takes about a minute. Preparation is what makes the stages after it quick.
Does the enquiry involve a credit check?
No. There is no credit check when you first enquire. If one becomes necessary, it comes later and only with your agreement.
Will several lenders contact me?
No. Your details are not sprayed around. A real person reads your enquiry and phones you, and works on your situation.
What do I need to know about the form?
Fill it in accurately: the amount, the purpose, your state, your structure and whether property is involved. That lets the first call be about options instead of corrections.
