Section C · Repair
Fix it before you lodge
Declines, thin history, a rough month, a credit listing, overdue lodgements. Most of these can be explained or repaired, and the order you do it in matters.
How to use this section
Most application problems are fixable, and the order of the fix matters. Lodge before you pay, caption before you explain, and document before you re-apply.
Pick the page that matches the problem. Each one gives a short method, an example of good wording and the evidence that carries the most weight with an assessor.

Can a declined application be fixed?
Often. Declines usually trace to a handful of causes, and repairing the cause while documenting the repair gives the next file a different look.
Should I explain every dip in my statements?
Only the ones that stand out. Repeating seasonal patterns do not need captions; a cliff, a gap or an unexplained lump does.
Is bad credit the end of the road?
No. Past credit issues and ATO debt are considered case by case. Honest facts, a short note and proof of what has changed carry real weight.
